Metallica – Metallica

Pod #30 and we tuck into heavy metal group Metallica’s ‘The Black Album’ or simply ‘Metallica’. Per tradition we are joined by a special guest. On this occasion it’s drummer extraordinaire Phil Chandrapal. The Dude plays the perfect host asking all those pressing questions a podcast host should, Phil plays the perfect guest and illustrates…

Fatboy Slim – You’ve Come A Long Way Baby

A very special 29th pod at The Golden Ducks. The Dude and Walt Gold finally get into the studio and on this occasion review the second album by electronic producer Fatboy Slim perfectly entitled ‘You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby’. TD shows serious hopes of owning some memory in an extraordinary display of testicular fortitude…

The Cranberries – No Need To Argue

On our 28th pod we visit The Cranberries 2nd album ‘No Need To Argue’.  Whilst WG immediately goes on a rant about inheriting an Android phone after losing his iPhone, TD entertains a rogue Australian male (so to speak) proving to our listeners we are completely unedited & unscripted as we delve deep into the…

ABBA – Arrival

We launch right into pod 27 with ABBA’s 4th studio album ‘Arrival’. In between discussing our most challenging crowds when it comes to wedding speeches, TD gets his knickers in a twist trying to define exactly what an acronym is, WG somehow compares ABBA to John Lennon in an extremely tenuous link and we lay…

Neil Young – After The Gold Rush

During our 26th pod we get our teeth stuck into Neil Young’s third studio album ‘After the Gold Rush’.  During this somewhat iconic pod we discuss which online porn platform is our favourite when one visits the bathroom, The Dude discusses whether his father, the legend that is ‘Big Gregg’, has ever been a fan…

The Beatles – Revolver

We celebrate our 25th podcast with The Beatles covering their seventh studio album ‘Revolver’.

During this pod The Dude smartly revisits the meaning of what exactly is a Stone Cold Classic, Walt Gold showcases his disdain for Ringo Starr and The Golden Ducks revisit some past memories where they bonded over the most influential band of all time.

Get on it.

Snoop Doggy Dogg – Doggystyle

On our 24th podcast we dissect Snoop Dogg’s debut album ‘Doggystyle’. Throughout the course of the podcast TD becomes increasingly more gangster and embraces this with aplomb, WG schedules a drive by shooting for sometime in October with TD in tow and between us we swear more than we ever have done evidently enthused by the explicit lyrics on the aforementioned album.

Get on it.

Michael Jackson – Off The Wall

Our 23rd podcast and this time we visit Michael Jackson’s ‘Off the Wall’. We applaud and discuss how The Dude made the Australian headlines recently, Walt Gold arrogantly denounces any album that doesn’t have an epic opener as complete rubbish and between us we discuss the very big elephant in the room concerning the King of Pop and dare we say it we get a little serious for the first time in a 20 year (or 25 according to The Dude) friendship. Get on it.

Portishead – Dummy

106 days after The Golden Ducks last outputted a podcast we’re back with our 22nd where we cover Portishead’s debut album ‘Dummy’.

Between discussing why there has been such a lengthy hiatus ( there’s no trouble in the GD camp we promise), our love of the phrase ‘excessive linguistic pressure’, TD sitting in a bar with a load of aliens and WG aimlessly writing off our two previous guest contributors, somewhere along the line we tackle this moody, broody and suspenseful piece of work.

Get on it.

Live – Throwing Copper

We tuck into ‘Throwing Copper’ by Alt Rock Grunge dwellers ‘Live’.

Walt Gold immediately slates, & later rates this mid nineties effort whilst employing the most cliched and generalised description of your average ‘Live’ fan, whilst ‘one third French’ The Dude struggles to grasp the language of love whilst name checking the hottest siblings around (except the brother obviously), Irish 4 piece ‘The Corrs’.

Will The Golden Ducks categorise this as a Stone Cold Classic or simply discard it like a morsel of food on the carpet?

Get on it!
